Why Monkey Repack?

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is using pretty slow Oodle compression library method called Kraken. It means, that while it’s not as slow as Leviathan, installation of the Turtle repack will take pretty much time on a very powerful PC while number of saved GBs won’t be fantastic. While I’m still packing the Turtle Repack, you can get the Monkey One, which doesn’t save much, but installs very fast. And since any monkey can repack the game that way, it’s called the “Monkey Repack”

Update Nov 3, 2024: Turtle Repack has been compressed and tested. And it’s a no-go for a public release. 2-hours installation on a 32-threaded CPU with a minimum size of 59.7 GB (66.6 GB for a complete set) is not something you would like to see.

Repack Features

  • Before installing this repack, go to your Windows virtual memory settings and make it static size of at least 16 GB (32 GB – better). This repack uses an official game pak tool, which does all operations in RAM and then dumps compressed file at once. In my experience it was eating around 15 GB on the largest file.
