Running the game with Japanese dub

For those, who wants to play the game with Japanese voiceovers/movies, I’ve included 3 modified EXE files – FFX-2_JP.exe, “FFX&X-2_Will_JP.exe”, FFX_JP.exe

You can run them manually if you want to switch between versions, or, if you’re planning to play with Japanese forever, just rename them to FFX-2.exe, “FFX&X-2_Will.exe” and FFX.exe respectively, overwriting original files. But make backup just in case.

Game Description

In example, if you want to launch the game with Englis UI/Subtitles/Voiceovers and with re-encoded lossy videos – skip all selective/optional files,
but download setup-fitgirl-selective-videos-lossy.bin & all main files (01-03).

Lossless vs Lossy videos

As you know, I don’t like lossy repacking. This particular game is a rare exception. All game videos on PC are rendered in 1080p with 24fps. But actually the displayed framerate for many scenes varies from 7 to 15, which is typical for Japanese animation.

So, for those, who desperatly fights for every GB of traffic, I’ve made an optional lossy versions of those videos. Of course, they look crappy in some scenes compared to original – blocky, poor red color, artefacts on edges. But many people won’t see the difference or will cope with what they get for that small size.

As always, I don’t push you nor I make a choice for you.

Here is the example of re-encoded video, the opening cinematics, transcoded from original BINK2 1080p to BINK1 1080p format with reduced bitrate.

It’s an self-playing executable, so you can simply run and watch it, no codecs or players required.

Watch and decide if you need to spend additional 5 GBs for original videos or re-encoded videos would be enough.

If save files don't work for you

Open CPY.ini, located in game root witn any text editor
and set new custom path in string: SavePath=%DEFAULT_CPY_DIR%
In example: SavePath=C:TOB_Saves

Also make sure you have indexing turned ON and compression turned OFF for folder with saves.
Windows Search also must be active.

Repack Features

  • Based on God.Eater.2.Rage.Burst-CPY ISO release: cpy-ge2rb.iso (15,100,868,608 bytes)
  • 100% Lossless & MD5 Perfect: all files are identical to originals after installation
  • NOTHING ripped, NOTHING re-encoded
  • Selective download feature: you may skip downloading and installing of credits (three files inside) and tutorial (12 files inside) videos to save some traffic
  • Significantly smaller archive size (compressed from 14.1 to 3.9~5.6 GB, depending on selected components)
  • Installation takes from 10 minutes (8-cores CPU + SSD) to 30 minutes (2-cores CPU + HDD)
  • After-install integrity check so you could make sure that everything installed properly
  • HDD space after installation: up to 15 GB (~20 GB during installation)
  • Use “Language Selector.exe” in game root to change the game language
  • Repack uses pZlib library by Razor12911

If save files don't work for you

Open CPY.ini, located in game root witn any text editor
and set new custom path in string: SavePath=%DEFAULT_CPY_DIR%
In example: SavePath=C:GE2_Saves

Also make sure you have indexing turned ON for folder with saves and compression turned OFF.
And make sure you have Windows Search service enabled as well.
