Game Description
Two years ago Granichny Island became an epicentre of a large-scale disaster of unknown origin. “The New Light” conglomerate covered up this catastrophic event – and now aims to rectify the consequences as much as they can.

A massive campaign is underway, during which so-called “Volunteers” – most of whom have never held a weapon in their hands – are sent out onto Granichny. Their mission – to research the paranormal activities of the island, gathering information and undertaking dangerous tasks, all in hope of amending mistakes of the past. Game Description
Story
Wars between nations are no longer conflicts between people; rather, they have become struggles for survival as humanity fights an all-new enemy.

Unidentified flying objects referred to as Blankers have suddenly appeared, and the only weapon powerful enough to defeat them is the Held System.

Only a small number of exceptional young women are capable of operating Held Systems, and they have become known as Frauleins.
Frauleins are now humanity’s last hope… If we don’t fight, humanity is doomed.
But fighting comes with a price that some may not be prepared to pay…

About the Game
An all-new breed of aerial shooting game, Wing of Darkness is comprised of a number of key elements that set it apart from others in the same genre.

This high-speed 3D shooting game allows players to experience exhilarating battles in the sky, as well as a series of cutscenes depicting the growth of the main characters throughout the story.

Shooting
Experience the thrill of flight with user-friendly controls, in any direction. Even if you run out of ammo, it automatically restores itself over time. Choose from a wide array of high-tech weapons to combat powerful enemies without having to worry about conserving ammunition. With the addition of some futuristic elements, players can experience combat like never before.

Cutscenes
Cutscenes sandwich the combat scenes, driving the plot forward.
The two main characters (voiced by well-known Japanese voice actresses) tell their own stories in order to give the player insight into the past.

The narrative alternates between the game’s two heroines, Klara and Erika.
Players can watch the mystery of Blankers and Frauleins unfold from their perspective.

Game Description

Game Description
Story

In a parallel world where the Earth is made of blocks, evil has befallen the otherwise peaceful planet.

Led by Dark Tyrant, several Motherships suddenly attacked the planet, shattering the Earth into pieces.

The Earth has been attacked by the Invaders, Ravagers, and Aggressors before…but the brave EDF soldiers have always joined together to defend the planet from these threats.

With the Earth shattered, EDF soldiers continue fighting on each of their pieces of the planet. But with no way to reach each other to deliver aid or food supplies, the planet remains in despair.

You must assume the role of Commander of the EDF and fight back. Find the EDF soldiers fighting around the planet, and begin a counteroffensive. Only a powerful team assembled by you can save our square Earth.

Game Features

  • A New Fight on a Square Earth: A new EDF adventure begins! Only this time, the action unfolds in a parallel world where the Earth is made of digital blocks. This world has befallen into chaos, as the once peaceful square Earth has been shattered into pieces. Shape aside, it is an Earth nonetheless which needs to be defended. It is now up to the EDF to restore peace to the square planet.
  • Assemble Your Own Team: The Earth has been shattered into pieces. EDF soldiers are fighting desperately on their own in various countries around the world. Rescue these soldiers to have them join you, and assemble your own unique team. Each mission can be attempted with up to 4 teammates. Switch among your teammates as you go, making use of each character’s unique traits which shall prove useful in battle at different times.
  • Recruit Soldiers from Past EDF Games: Block versions of characters from every previous EDF release, from EDF1 (“Monster Attack”) to “Earth Defense Force 5,” and even the EDF spinoff releases, appear in the game. Also featured are a wide range of weapons and vehicles from past EDF releases. Series veterans will enjoy seeing these familiar characters and weapons, while those new to the series have the opportunity to be introduced to its rich history for the first time.
  • Familiar Enemies: Enemies that invaded the Earth before make an appearance in this game, this time in block form.
  • Online Co-Op: This game supports up to 4-player online co-op, with each player joining the battle using their own team.

Install English Voiceovers!

TL;DR – You must install English voiceovers in any scenario!

Playtests showed that deeper inside the game (~one hour in) there is a place, where the game tries to load audio from English pack, as the base one, instead of other locale you’ve chosen. Which leads to crash if you don’t have English voiceovers installed. So to bypass that error, you have to install English pack along with your language. Sorry for inconvenience.

  • A NEW TAKE ON 3rd PERSON COMBAT: The martial arts style combat system allows you maximum freedom of movement and agility while mixing shooting, melee and powers from your mutations. Learning new Wung-Fu combat forms through progression and learning from masters you’ll meet, will constantly add to your choices and make sure combat never gets old.
  • EVOLVE YOUR GAME-PLAY: You’ll be able to re-code your genetic structure to change the way you look and play. This will of course affect your attributes and in addition to this, exposure to bio-contamination in the world will lead to mutations like the Turtleform and Mucus Bubble, while exposure to radioactivity found in bunkers from the old world will affect your mind and unlock psi-mutations like telekinesis, levitation and more.
  • NEXT LEVEL OF CRAFTING: You are totally free when crafting weapons. Mix and match parts to create your own unique 1H or 2H slash and crush weapons. Revolvers, rifles and shotguns and add modifications like cork-screws and battery-powered chainsaw modules to bio-contaminated sludge vials adding to your combat arsenal. There are even characters you’ll meet that’ll craft cool stuff for you, like bionic wings, a jump-pack and even let you modify your Automaton – the scrap-toy sidekick!
  • GEAR UP FOR ADVENTURE: You are totally free when equipping your character. Not only when it comes to choosing weapons you created, but what type of gear you wear. Equip a gas-mask and an oxygen tank for exploring the Dead Zones, thermos-resistant clothes for venturing into cryonic areas or protective gear for taking on bio-contaminated creatures, the choice is up to you.
